Technically designed as a .22lr submachine gun, the GSG-16's long barrel with a mock suppressor classifies it as a semi-automatic rifle.

For left- and right-handed shooters, it features an ambidextrous charging handle in the submachine gun style, a magazine release lever, and a safety lever. The multi-position adjustable stock can be equipped with a quick-change magazine via the Klick-Fix system. Ghost ring sights allow for rapid target acquisition when no optic is mounted.

Five Picatinny rails enable the attachment of various accessories. Beneath the Picatinny rails on the forend is an M-LOK® system, allowing the weapon to be carried without rails while still being customizable with accessories. The two-stage metal trigger is adjustable and perfectly matched to the optional 110-round drum magazine.

The receiver and trigger housing are constructed from high-strength, fiberglass-reinforced polymer. This gives the shooter an extremely robust and easy-to-handle weapon.
